Mechanical coupling for torque transmission - torque limiter

 

In the case of torque measurement, a mechanical coupling is an assembly which allows power to be transmitted via a rotational movement from the motor to the receiver.
The motor and the receiver become integral through this coupling.
Thus, to choose a coupling system or to design it, it is important to know:
 
- the nominal torque and the size are the first important technical elements to carry out a pre-selection in a range of coupling systems.
 
-the maximum rotation speed
 
-the profile of the transmitted power
 
-the estimated misalignment
 
- the limiting power of the coupling system: in certain circumstances, favor a rupture of the coupling system rather than damage to a motor or a receiver
